  if i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?

  What else can we do to get ready? Going to have typed information copies in my apostate book bag I carry. Can you believe I once happened to have a copy of Crisis of Conscience on me when running into JWs at their little table outside a store...they wouldn't take it but I filled them in on the UN and explained how to easily find out for themselves. aaaaand told them what the elder would explain happened...library card my booty.....hey they trained me well didn't they. I ran into quite a few from the local congo that way this last year.

  It may be important how we present the Big News also. Not as; toldyouso but OMG I just can't believe this is true! ::thinkingtomyself::

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses parasites?

  i sometimes felt guilty when i was a jw by taking advantage of the system and not putting anything back.

  like schools- jw's want good schools for their kids but would never serve on the pta or other school committee.

  doctors- oh how they want the best medical care, but they discourage their children from getting an advanced degree to become a doctor.

  I see the organization as parasitic, because it depends on a fairly advanced civilization with an infrastructure, roads, printing presses, and a benevolent government to spread their message

  I for one understand the clear difference between the sincere rank and file JW doing their hardest to fulfill the demands they have been duped into believing is Gods desire for their lives. Then there are "The Others". I met some truly mean hateful self righteous insincere people in the org. Ane who knows the real truth about what goes on and what is said behind Bethel's closed doors.

  Did you ever see or experience prejudice in the religion?

  besides the strong hatred of woman, that we know the witness religion teaches, did you ever see black bothers ignored in their attempt to reach out to be ms or elders?

  did you ever see latinos treated different because of how the local community viewed them?

  i know the watchtower teaches that this does not happen, but i actually experienced an event with a black brother that was a friend, that bothered me when i was in the religion.

  Right as I stated I never experienced any racism at all in any congo I attended. This person I had met I met recently and did confess to me that he would never let anyone know to their face how he felt (racist). But he was born in the Borg and is racist, admitedly so. Like I said though this was shocking to me since racism was not something I had ever experienced in the congo before.

  Honestly as a JW active child in a Southern California congo I never experienced any racism against other JWs, but yes the world was full of "the worldy" scums who were worthless dangerous people who were all gonna see how we were right when they get slaughtered at Armageddon by the Fall of 1975. Even when I was working on being baptized as an adult I never experienced any racism in any form however...

  Recently I met a young man who is a professed JW and was SHOCKED at his racism. He is in another state. I assume his JW parents must condone it since he lives at home and his parents associate with a racist neighbor. Very very shocking. I've had a chance to talk to him and he seems to be coming around but how could one raised a JW from birth justify this sickening view?

  CREEPY CREEPY STORY!!!!!!

  i got so caught this morning with barb's thread that i forgot to tell you guys the story my sister told me last night.

  she was telling all of us about a night last year when they (her and her 2 kids aged "4" and 8) were watching the news, anyway the news was on afghanistan and the older girl asked why the women were all covered up, so my sister started to explain in simple terms (because of the ages) that women were not treated good over there, so this is where the "4" year old pipes up and says ..'i know!

  ' so my sister asked her what she meant and the 4 year old said that there was bad men with guns following her in the house, (so at this point my sister just went with the story to see what she would say) so my sister asked what she did, if she got away...and my niece said she and another friend hid in the basement but the men found them and shot them

  Interesting..I do believe children and some adults do have special sensitivities, because of personal experiences. Reminds me of something that happened in our family.

  My son when he was around 3 or 4 used to talk about our "pink house " he would go on and on about the good times and adventures we would have when we were there. I just figured it was his creative imagination, who in the world really has a pink house. Years later I was single, very ill, and disabled and had a little bit of money to buy something to live in. I looked for over a year at prices and when the money came through there was one house on the market that was not trashed that was livable I could afford and I jumped on it. There is too much to tell but..well..I had some real bad times and my awesome little home became my heavenly sancuary. When my son came to visit for the first time (he had been living with his wealthy dad for schooling) he hugged me, and in astonishment he gasped "MOM THE PINK HOUSE!" We both were left speechless. It had been so real to him as a child.

  corection; Individual JWs may pay taxes if they have to, (otherwise they would be advised against it by Mothah Watchtower) but the WTBTS pays NO taxes when they most certainly should be.

  Churches are tax exempt and normaly provide very well for community needs because they are the pulse of the community. The WTBTS provides NOTHING for any community except a worthless magazine, brainwashed depressed workers never knowing the awesome grace of God, and congo members that are not allowed to provide any kind of social input, be it commitees, city sponsered charitees, local soroptomist type groups, city festivals parade assistant, scholarships donations, support for returning troups for military communities, I can go on and on. You see, normal American society historicaly has been faith based/secular groups making it all good. WTBTS is niether.

  D'fd I have challenged many JWs to SHOW ME THE MONEY when it comes to these supposed JW societal charities. I could give you actual phone numbers and addresses of places you could go all over the world for help from legitamate Christian chrities. Go look on the Official JW website for yourself and get all these charity contacts you seem to believe are there. Charity is not some obscure claim but an easily contacted group or association which the Watchtower has none. The last time I tried tro find a JW sponsered charity I found two obscure references to what a "congregation" did to help someone out. And then usually not outsiders but other JWs. Not a penny leaves Bethel for charity without some kind of kickback expected, please prove me wrong. I'd like to think the religion that almost screwed up my life for good had some redeeming quality. Please no "JWs don't let thier left hand know what thier right is doing" crap. Charity doesn't work that way when you are dealing with thousands to millions of dollars.

  JWs pay no taxes and is a CURSE on society.
